いささかでも卓越した時計製造技術の歴史に魅せられたすべての時計職人にとって、グランドソヌリは、時に一生をかけても到達不可能な頂点、一種の完璧さを象徴しています。まぎれもなくグランドソヌリは複雑時計製造で最も偉大な1つです。ロベールグルーベルとステファンフォルセイの二人は、パートナーシップの初めからすべての複雑機構の女王と言えるグランドソヌリの確固たる現代的な構想を考え続けています。それから11年に及び、このグランドソヌリの935のパーツを最大限の機密をもってムーブメント、外装、音響に至るまで完璧な調和がとれるように努力したのです。

このタイムピースは専門知識の神髄と卓越した時計技術を象徴しています。このグランドソヌリは力強い音響で、日常生活防水を備えています。人間工学に基づき最大限に使いやすく、一方、ストライキング機構は「グランドソヌリ」モードでおよそ20時間という驚異的なパワーリザーブを備えています。グランドソヌリは自社製のサイレントストライキングレギュレーターとトゥールビヨン24セコンズを搭載したグルーベルフォルセイの基準のケースに収められています。

実際、最も重要な構成部品と表示 (トゥールビヨン、カテドラルゴング、ハンマー、パワーリザーブ表示…) の組み込みには、構造の全体的なバランスを損なわないよう特別な注意が払われました。時計職人たちは、タイムピースを構成する計935個の部品を、高さ43.5mm、厚さ16.13mmのスペースに収めることに成功したのです。「グランドソヌリ」は紛れもなく、グルーベルフォルセイがこれまで手掛けた中でもっとも複雑な作品と言えるでしょう。

ムーブメントの巻き上げは手動で行いますが、ストライキング機構は自動巻き上げシステムを備えており、これによって「グランドソヌリ」モードでおよそ20時間のパワーリザーブが確保されます。ミニッツリピーターと補助のストライキング機構はオンデマンドで最も近いミニッツで正確にチャイムします。このタイムピースの特別な特徴は、毎時振動数21,600、黒のメトリックパワーリザーブ72時間です。このタイムピースには、「グランドソヌリ」モード (毎正時および15分単位で時刻を知らせる)、「プティットソヌリ」モード (毎正時のみ）、「サイレント」モード (音を切る) の3種類の選択モードがあります。チタン製の共鳴ケージによって、透明感のある澄んだ音色がいっそう美しく響きます。

グルーベルフォルセイは今やグランドソヌリを提供する希少なウォッチメーカーに数えられます。

このタイムピースは、年間5～8本のペースで製作される予定です。
